Sir Ratan Tata Trust Sir Ratan Tata Trust is one of the oldest Indian foundations and today, continues as a professionally managed philanthropic organisation. Through its grant making, the Trust supports efforts for the development of society, in areas of Rural Livelihoods & Communities (RLC), Education, Health, Civil Society & Governance and Arts & Culture. The Trust promotes inclusive growth and regaining agricultural dynamism through focused regional initiatives. Sakh-Se-Vikas (Development through Credit) is the regional microfinance initiative of the Trust in Rajasthan, which seeks to enhance livelihoods of poor communities through promotion of community based microfinance programmes. The initiative recognizes that access to finance complemented with institution building and business development services can make a transformational change in the lives of rural poor, particularly women. The initiative currently reaches out to over 65,000 poor households across 12 districts in Rajasthan. Expansion is planned in West Rajasthan in partnership with the state government and other donors. Centre for microfinance (CmF), which is the nodal agency for Sakh Se vikas, works to catalyse the microfinance sector in Rajasthan. Its specific areas of focus including banking and formal institutions, strengthening people’s institutions, risk mitigation and reducing vulnerability and urban poor programme. Assistant Development Manager (ADM) / Development Officer (DO) (Rural Livelihoods & Communities - Microfinance) Rajasthan (SRTT/ADM/DO/RLC-MF-SSV/01/2010) The Trust is looking for suitable professionals to consolidate and expand this work in close collaboration with CmF. The selected candidate will be deputed to CmF to support the development of the institution and to further the goals of Sakh-Se-Vikas Initiative. Specific responsibilities include: a) anchoring specific area of work within CmF; b) overseeing and ensuring management of specific grants in the initiative; c) working alongside the leadership in strengthening CmF as an institution. The candidates should: (i) possess a Master’s degree in rural Management / Engineering / Agriculture / Social Work / Social Science; (ii) a specialization in Finance will be an added advantage; (iii) have an understanding of the various models of microfinance in use, particularly in India and a commitment towards furthering community based models; (iv) have a demonstrable record of field level achievement in microfinance of a minimum of five to eight years; (v) have the zeal to excel, the ability to innovate future strategies and deliver, in a challenging environment; (vi) be willing to undertake extensive travel to remote areas; and (vii) have a good command of spoken and written English and Hindi and reasonable knowledge of computers. After a brief orientation with the Trust in Mumbai, the candidate would be posted in Jaipur. The assignment provides an ideal atmosphere, conducive to maximizing output.
