Job Description – Assistant Territory Sales Manager (Andhra Pradesh) Reports to: Program Manager-NACO CSM Collaborates with: ASM/TSM/ATSM & CO Supervises: FO’s & MFA’s Location: (AP-Vizag & Nizamabad/Karimnagar) Context Population Services International is a registered Indian Society dedicated to the improvement of public health in India. PSI India’s mission is to empower the people of India to lead healthy lives. Over the past twenty years, PSI has collaborated with the GoI and a number of donors to increase the use of modern contraception for family planning, to provide products and services for the health of mothers and children and to decrease the spread of HIV/AIDS. PSI harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address health problems of the low-income and vulnerable populations using social marketing to achieve positive behaviour change by promoting ideas, products and services conducive to better health. PSI promotes and distributes 11 health products, using commercial channels and outlets to make available quality health products at affordable prices. The basket of products includes condoms, oral contraceptives, ORS, water purification solutions; IFA tablets; clean delivery kits and pre-packaged STI treatment kit. PSI’s is in the process of implementing its five year plan developed in 2008 which focus on maximizing health impact, developing organizational capacity and strengthening its financial foundations for expanded health impact. To implement this ambitious plan, PSI is looking for an Assistant Territory Sales Manager. Purpose: The Assistant Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for achievement of Sales Targets for NACO Condom Social Marketing through individual efforts, effective supervision and implementation of State Plans. Duties and Responsibilities • Responsible for management of Sales Targets in the assigned area through effective implementation of State plan. • Develop & strengthen Sales & Distribution network in the assigned area which include the followings: a. Create & effectively maintain relationship with Super Stockist in coordination with the Supervisor b. Facilitate the smooth implementation of Sales & Distribution strategy c. Analyze the existing distribution network and identify strategies by managing available resources to sustain & explore business opportunities • Develop & implement promotional strategies to increase the demand for PSI products at retail & consumer level. • Develop optimum coverage plan in mass market & targeted intervention areas as per the objectives of State Programs. • Train, supervise & provide mentoring support to Field Officer’s to perform their roles & responsibilities to the expected standards. • Consistently analyze team performance at par with Key Result Areas and suggest appropriate actions to meet standard performance. • Periodic discussion with Supervisor on Area performance & appropriate plan of actions. • Compliance of all Reporting Systems & Procedures as per schedule & deadline. • Liaison with key stakeholders to promote PSI social marketing programme. • Ensure issue awareness through on-ground communication activities • Scrutinizes & approve all field expenses for sales personnel. • Increase the penetration and sale of Other PSI products in the assigned territory to increase the Program Income base. • Build on existing TI NGO sales in the assigned territory and explore sale of other products to TI NGOs in the assigned geography. Qualification • Graduate /any post graduation with 3-5 years of sales experience. • Applicants must have knowledge in distribution and sales. • Preference will be given to candidates with an excellent performance history in a sales career. • The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and will accept challenges and possess the ability to lead a team. • Good communication skills will be essential • Knowledge of local language would be an added advantage.
