ActionAid is an International development organization supporting development initiatives in 50 countries across the world and works with poor and marginalised people to eradicate poverty by overcoming the injustice and inequity that cause it.
Set up in India in 1972, ActionAid operates out of 12 Regional Offices spread across 24 States and 1 Union Territory. ActionAid India wishes to recruit a Regional Manager for its Delhi Regional Office. The successful candidate will report to Director - Programmes and be part of the Senior Management Team. Main Job Responsibilities The Regional Manager will be responsible for identifying and appraising NGO partners, supporting their work and monitoring progress. S/he will proactively engage in Advocacy and Policy influencing at State level and will work with the most marginalized and vulnerable communities, networks, social movements and governments to secure greater justice for the marginalized people. S/he will work through the Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) and facilitate the conscientisation and empowerment of the marginalized and excluded communities, with a team of development professionals and create an enabling environment for innovation and effective performance towards achieving ActionAid Country Strategy Paper goal. The Ideal Candidate should – • have Post Graduate degree in Social Work/Social Sciences/Rural Development/Management or its equivalent. • have relevant experience in planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and evaluating development projects. • possess strong leadership and administrative skills, capable of leading a team of development professionals and liaising and building networks with Civil Society Organisations, NGOs, INGOs, Government and other agencies. • have strong communication skills. Knowledge of regional/local language will be an added advantage. • preferably have an activist background; should be gender sensitive and have conviction and skills for the empowerment of the marginalized and excluded social groups. • be willing to travel extensively, as required.
