District Coordinators

Samarthan is a voluntary development organization working in MP and Chhatisgarh- to promote participatory development and decentralised governance since 1996. We endeavour to positively impact in the lives of poor, disadvantaged and the marginalised through field action, capacity building, research and advocacy.

 

Job Profile:

We are looking for District Coordinators for our programme in various districts of Madhya Pradesh. The job comprises research as well as capacity building elements at sub-district, district and state level. The candidates would be working on governance related projects supported by DFID, UNDP, Ford Foundation, International Budget Partnership (IBP) etc. The work provides opportunity for the candidate to demonstrate her/his skills in conducting high quality research at the field level, building capacities of government functionaries and influencing the development policies at district level and consequently bring about impactful changes in the sector. The work requires extensive travel within and outside district.

 

Eligibility:

·         Post graduate in Social Sciences/ Management/ public administration/ economics/ sociology.

·         At least 5 years of work experience in the sector.

·         Understanding of rural governance issues with specific reference to implementation of NREGS and NRHM.

·         Demonstrated abilities in ensuring citizens participation in development and governance.

·         Good understanding on issues facing the rural poor and other marginalised groups.

·         Ability to interact and communicate with various stakeholders like Government officials at district level, Panchayat functionaries, academia and the community.

·         Good computer handling (MS office/ using internet) and communication skills.

 

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
