Project Executive: Agriculture Programme
Grameen Development Services (GDS) is a Lucknow based NGO established in 1993. The organization works for the economic and the social empowerment of the poor and marginalized sections of the society in the poverty concentrated regions within Bihar, U.P. and Rajasthan. The core sectoral focuses include livelihoods strengthening, women’s empowerment and disaster risk management.
The organization is looking for a Project Executive for its Agriculture Programme being implemented in Muzaffarpur District in Northern Bihar. The programme aims at developing and propagating context specific packages of improved agricultural practices and promoting appropriate community institutional base to support the requirements of small and marginal farmers. The incumbent will:
¨ Be a Post Graduate in Agriculture preferably in Agronomy or Vegetable Sciences.
¨ Have a minimum of 2 years experience in implementing field based Agriculture programmes. ¨ Have an open mind and ability to learn from own and other’s experiences. ¨ Have good interpersonal communication and training skills. ¨ Preferably have experience in promoting community based institutions. ¨ Have experience and good skills in liaisoning and networking ¨ Have good analytical, documentation and reporting skills and ability to guide farmers based on the derived field learnings. ¨ Have strong sensitivity to gender and women’s issues. ¨ Be able to drive a two wheeler.
Salary: Rs. 10,000/- per month consolidated, subject to TDS.
The Job Responsibilities of the Project Executives would be:
¨ Field implementation of the programme- involving analysis of the situation; designing and planning field level execution strategies and activities; field level execution; regular monitoring and review; and preparing analytical reports. ¨ Designing and delivering structured training/capacity building programmes for farmers, extension workers and Farmers Clubs. ¨ Networking and liaison with resource institutions, Agriculture institutions, mainstream banks and markets for linkage building.
