Programme Director
Udayan Care is a child-Rights based development organization that aims to promote Child Rights and improve the quality of life of orphaned and destitute children. Udayan Care is a premier organization in the country for introducing group foster care in the homes for orphaned and destitute children. The basis of our work lies in its commitment to the principle of equality and rights, developing the capacity of civil society to enable them to take responsibility for restoring child rights and replicating successful models that have worked. Position Overview The Program Director will be responsible for providing management oversight to all programming functions at the Udayan Home level within Udayan Care. This includes program implementation, program operations, safety and security, and finance management. The Program Director will be based in Delhi and will lead, supervise and manage directly a team of Sr. Coordinators, social workers, supervisors and indirectly another 25-30care givers at homes. Main Tasks - Oversee implementation of all programs at the homes. - Identify synergies between programs and promote effective collaboration among teams. - Supervise coordinators for all programs, providing programmatic guidance and management support. -Assist in writing proposals for funding agency
- Assist in fund raising
-Plan expansion of the programme and ensure implementation of the same
- Ensure compliance of prevailing policies and procedures. - Identify training needs of staff and implement structured training programs. - Represent Udayan Care with partner agencies, government bodies, donors and the local community. - Participate in strategic planning of the organization and develop action plans. - Develop a Monitoring and Evaluation plan and implement the same. - Ensure all reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner, both internal and external as per grant agreements. - Keep management informed about any relevant developments in the programme. - Any other responsibilities assigned by management. Qualification & Experience - Degree in Social Work/ Social Sciences from a reputed institution. - 6-10 years total experience with at least 2 years experience in leading teams, mentoring staff and managing partnerships with reputed NGOs. Skills Sets Job Knowledge: A very strong understanding and experience of direct program implementation in the context group fostering, orphanage. Leadership: Outstanding leadership qualities; Problem solving approach; Ability to grasp, relate and quickly respond to situations. Communication: Fluency in English & Hindi. Excellent English report writing skills. Time Commitment We are looking for a person who intends to stay and grow with the organization in the long term.
