AVAS (Association for Voluntary Action and Services) is a non profit organization working since 25 years for the urban poor communities of Bangalore especially slum dwellers to protect their rights, and empower them to get their basic social entitlements.

AVAS strategy is to empower the vulnerable section of the society by building up their capacities through education, training, health, Insitu housing, skill based development, savings and credit programme and urban rural linkages programme between slums and villages.

In order to ensure access to proper health care and women empowerment programme for slum communities and peri urban areas AVAS has initiated HEAWEN (Health Education and Women Empowerment Network)

For this we are looking for a candidate who can fulfill the following requirements.

Education qualification –graduation / under graduation
She /He should have a minimum of two years of experience in the social work sector, skill to motivate the urban poor communities for developmental activities.
She/He must have good communication skills (verbal / written) in Kannada and English.
She/He should be willing to work among the slum communities and peri urban areas of Bengaluru especially women.
She/He must have sound knowledge about MS. Office (Word, Power Point and Excel)

Job Description: Visit to slum communities and peri urban areas of Bengaluru, creating awareness on health issues, training and mobilizing the community to access basic and social infrastructure, liaisoning on health issues with Government and other development organization, and any other related works as per the requirement of the project.
