AVAS (Association for Voluntary Action and Services) is a non profit organization working since 25 years for the urban and peri-urban poor communities of Bangalore especially slum dwellers to protect their rights, and empower them to get their basic social entitlements.

AVAS strategy is to empower the vulnerable section of the society by building up their capacities through education, training, health, Insitu housing, skill based development, savings and credit programme and urban rural linkages programme between slums and villages.

AVAS experience in Insitu slum housing development has been widely accepted by the policy makers as the most viable option for affordable housing. In order to promote this Insitu housing model AVAS has initiated the HERO ( Housing and Empowerment Rights Organization).For this we are looking for a candidate who can fulfill the following requirements.

Education qualification – Diploma in Civil Engineering

She /He should have a minimum of two years of experience in the social work sector, skill to motivate the urban poor communities for developmental activities. Even Fresher also can apply.

She/He must have good communication skills (verbal / written) in Kannada and English.
She/He should be willing to work among the slum communities and peri urban areas of Bengaluru.

She/He must have sound knowledge about MS. Office (Word, Power Point and Excel)

Job Description: Visit to slum communities and peri urban areas of Bengaluru, training and motivating the people in the community for Insitu housing development, mobilizing the community to access basic and social infrastructure, liaisoning with Government and other development organization, monitoring the quality of housing construction work and any other related works as per the requirement of the project.
