Vidya Bhawan Society invites applications for the post of Director for its Institute of Local Self Governance and Responsible Citizenship. The Institution is a part of Vidya Bhawan Society, founded in 1931. The Society includes 4 Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools, two Teachers' Training Colleges, a Rural Institute (Post Graduate College), a Polytechnic College, a Krishi Vigyan Kendra, a School of Citizenship and an Education Resource Centre.

The Institute runs capacity building programs on Local Self Governance, women-empowerment, Human Rights, community participation and employment opportunities in rural areas. The Institute produces training material in the form of books, articles, field studies and researches on rural development-like education, health, nutrition, sanitation, population management, environment conservation and employment generation. The Institute collaborates with other civil society, government bodies and reaches out to the larger masses.

Job responsibilities:
The incumbents will shoulder the responsibility of running the institution including of developing curriculum, future strategies, conducting research, networking with govt. agencies and NGOs, reporting, documentation, preparing project proposals, donor liaison and managing administration.

The candidate should:
Preferably be between 40-50 years with at least a good Master's degree in any discipline, with a substantial experience in community based rural development, education, managing and running projects including liaison or in Panchayati Raj. The job requires determination to work in challenging environments and travel. It also requires a command over spoken and written English, Hindi with an ability to reporting and conceptualizing.
